The Industry World Café is based on the World Café model which is a “method” for creating a living network of collaborative dialogue around questions that matter to the real-life situations of your organization or community.” Simply put, in the world of Management, the Industry World Café will provide you, our emerging professionals, the opportunity to have “conversations that matter” with current managers that allow for ideas and insights to be shared, and emerge with the wisdom of the group for all to experience.

BC’s economy offers a considerable range of industries and career opportunities for students coming from BCIT’s Business Management Diploma Program. As such, the purpose of the Industry World Café event is to help students graduating from this program to broaden their views of the available career and employment opportunities by introducing them to practicing managers from a range of industries in British Columbia.

The event is structured so 20 participants from a variety of industries will host tables with 5-7 students and Alumni and lead a discussion with respect to the employment opportunities and challenges related to their specific industries and lines of work. Students will rotate from table to table every 20 minutes. Close to 100 current Business Management students will be attending as well as over 50 alumni. The evening begins at 7pm on September 22, 2016 and will be held in SW1 Gateway.
